Story
Akari means ‘light’ or ‘glow’ in Japanese and is inspired by the form and radiance of traditional Japanese lanterns — symbols of guiding our loved ones peacefully forward.

A symbiosis of Anker’s two homelands, Japan and Denmark, it represents a new, personal, and dignified approach to urn design, honoring both the deceased and their relatives in every delicate detail.

Design
Moving beyond conventional urn designs, Bak approached the creation of Akari with the same mindset he applied to his award-winning furniture: designing with personality and empathy.

Uniquely for Akari, a wooden handle, crafted from molded oak plywood, gently embraces the urn, allowing the bereaved to carry their loved one to the final resting place and lower it into the ground with care.

The urn is made from 100% biodegradable materials and minerals and is available in eight calming colors with a matte finish.
