Nyttig Cane was developed with Karimoku in oak, bringing the warmth and familiarity of furniture into an object usually treated as medical equipment. Its form is deliberately neutral, reduced to the functions that are needed, while the tactile material makes it something to hold, carry and keep close through the day.
体に沿って携え、日々の暮らしの中で移動するための一部となる杖。実用的な道具であると同時に、人目にも触れるもの。支えを必要とする人にとって、その目立ちやすさは、杖を自然に持ち歩けると感じるか、それとも自分を周囲と隔てるものと感じるかに影響することがあります。
Nyttig Caneは、カリモクとの協働によりオーク材を用いて開発されました。医療器具として扱われることの多い杖に、家具のような温かみと親しみやすさをもたらしています。そのフォルムは必要な機能に絞り込んだ、あえて主張しないものになっています。また、手触りのよい素材を用いることで、手に持ち、携え、一日を通して身近に置いておきたくなるものに仕上げました。
