At the age of 89, Anker Bak’s grandmother began having problems with her balance and needed support to walk. The standard walker available to her made her feel ashamed to go outside, and she began going out less. Together they looked for another form of support she would feel comfortable bringing with her.

Værdig became Anker’s first design. Made in moulded plywood, its elongated foot rolls gently with each step, absorbing small shocks and adding stability on uneven ground. The movement also makes the crutch easier on hands and wrists during everyday walks.
