There is a moment when death becomes
something we all must carry.
The weight of loss and grief, but also of love
and longing.
Akari gives these feelings a personal form for
the rituals and spaces of contemporary life.
Inspired by Japanese lanterns, its shape carries
not only ashes, but traces of who we were.
The urn becomes the final thing we carry for
someone we love.
But it is also a quiet image of how to remember
them, and how we choose to let them go.
死というものが、私たちの誰しもが背負わなければならないも
のになる瞬間があります。
それは喪失や悲しみの重さであると同時に、愛や想いの重さ
でもあります。
Akari は、現代の暮らしや空間のなかで、そうした感情に触れ
られるパーソナルなかたちを与えます。
日本の提灯に着想を得たその形は、遺骨だけでなく、かつてそ
の人が存在した証までも宿しています。
この骨壺は、愛する人のために私たちが運ぶ、最後のものとな
ります。
それはまた、その人をどのように記憶し、どのように送りだすの
かという、静かなイメージでもあります。
