Kumo is made for the moments when sitting down is not simply a pause, but a way of making room for thought. Its name means “cloud” in Japanese, a reference to the lightness and stillness Anker Bak wanted the chair to hold. From the beginning, it was conceived as a chair allowed to have a strong presence in the room, bringing craftsmanship, function and comfort together without becoming anonymous.

The chair grew through years of close work with Miyazaki Chair Factory. Beneath the calm form is a complex construction in oak, leather, stainless steel and brass, with a deep seat and adjustable neck pillow. The details work quietly, leaving space to rest, read or think.
